What exactly is Soumo?

A native Mac app that brings quotes, invoices and GST/QST tax filing together in one place — built for freelancers, studios and small businesses in Québec.

Why the name “Soumo”?

“Soumo” comes from soumission — the Québec French word for a quote, and the one that sparked the whole project. The starting idea: make the quote (and everything after) fast and painless. The little sumo in the icon? A wink we fully own — sturdy, calm, efficient. Just like the app.

When does it ship?

Soumo is in active development, launching on the Mac App Store. Join the waitlist to be notified first (and get a launch price).

Does it really handle Québec taxes?

Yes. GST and QST, regular method. Soumo computes your quarterly tax report from your sales (taxes collected) and purchases (taxes paid). You see exactly what to remit.

Is my data private?

Everything lives on your Mac and syncs through your own iCloud account. No third-party server, no data resale, no ads.

What's the iPhone companion?

An iPhone app to scan your receipts out in the field. They land on your Mac via iCloud — no retyping, ever.
